How to Spring Clean Your Social Media

If your social media doesn’t clearly show who you are and who you help, it’s time for a cleanup.
How to Spring Clean Your Social Media

If your social media feels messy or outdated, it probably is.

Now’s a good time to clean it up.

Not overhaul. Not reinvent.

Just clean up the clutter.

Start here:

Check your bios

  • Is your headline still accurate?
  • Are you speaking to the right audience?
  • Does your description make people want to keep reading?

If it feels generic, it probably sounds that way too.

Use clear language. Tell people what you do and who you help.

Look at your pinned posts

  • Do they still reflect your voice and your value?
  • Are they clear and recent?
  • Would you click on them?

If not, unpin them and start fresh.

Review your recent posts

  • Are you repeating yourself too often?
  • Are you posting just to post?
  • Are people engaging—or scrolling past?

Look for patterns. Keep what works. Drop what doesn’t.

Audit your visuals

  • Do your posts look like they come from the same brand?
  • Are the photos, graphics, and templates consistent?
  • Is there too much noise?

You don’t need to be flashy. You just need to be recognizable.

Update your links

  • Do they still work?
  • Are they driving people to the right place?
  • Are you tracking what gets clicked?

Broken links break trust. Fix them fast.

THE BOTTOM LINE

If someone visited your profile for the first time today:

  • Would they understand what you do?
  • Would they know who you help?
  • Would they want to learn more?

If the answer is no, it’s time for a cleanup.

You don’t need to post more. You need to show up better.

Keep it simple. Say what matters. Then stop talking.

That’s how clarity wins.
